TV PRESENTER

BIOGRAPHY

Nick Knowles is a TV presenter, writer and director.

One of Britain's most versatile presenters, Nick is in great demand and has a full schedule with his unique exclusive deal with the BBC ranging across daytime, factual, factual entertainment and entertainment shows. The fantastically popular DIY SOS (BBC1) continues to be consistently the most popular factual programme on TV.

Nick appeared on our screens in the summer of 2007 fronting a series helping to make couple's wedding dreams come true called The Big Day (BBC1).

"It's been an extra-ordinary year" said Nick "As Ronan says, life is a rollercoaster but throwing yourself off it mid ride does make things more complicated". Nick was referring to his accident in Kenya at the end of 2006 whilst filming in Africa as part of the Mission Africa series. Determined to make a difference, he returned to Africa just four days after undergoing surgery at St Thomas' Hospital in Westminster. "Some things are more important than telly and I was so proud of the apprentices and the work they were doing for the Samburu people in that region that I had to get back. In hindsight, perhaps I should have waited longer to recover but heart sometimes rules head. I am enormously grateful to Mr Corbett, my surgeon, Sheila Powers who nursed me, and to all the people who sent such caring and encouraging messages of support".

In the Winter of 2007, Nick fronted a brand new game show for BBC1 Who Dares Wins, which aired peaktime Saturday night for seven weeks, with another series in April 2008.

Saving Planet Earth (BBC1)

Nick was amongst a host of stars joining Sir David Attenborough and Alan Titchmarsh for this series that supported animal conservation across the globe.

Nick travelled to Borneo to witness first hand the tragic deforestation that is orphaning baby Orang-utans and threatening the future of the species. It's a heart wrenching tale but a magical experience.

Last Choir Standing (BBC1)

Nick co-hosted with Myleene Klass in June 2008, scouring the country for choirs that combined the power, passion and performance necessary to be crowned the nation's favourite choir.

Wild About Your Garden (BBC1)

In November 2008, this new wildlife and gardening programme was aired which showed us how to encourage wildlife back into our gardens.

Wildest Dreams (BBC1)

In February/March 2009, Nick filmed the BBC series in Africa, following the trial and tribulations of 9 hopefuls who all wanted to prove they had what it takes to join the Natural History Unit; aired July 2009.

The National Lottery: Guesstimation (BBC1)

Summer 2009 saw the launch of the above presented by Nick.
